"A sweet start to the week, Bearscat Bakehouse opened their doors at 190 High Street for the first time on Monday morning, June 24. Manager Jazz Renner welcomed the bakery's first guests on behalf of North Dakota-based owners Tina and Kevin Cavanagh.The Cavanaghs opened the first location of Bearscat in Bismarck, North Dakota in 2011. Then a full-service bakery, they offered muffins, cookies and other items, but since then doughnuts have become their signature focus. In the following years, they opened two additional locations in Mandan and Minot, North Dakota.
They decided to open their first location outside North Dakota when longtime staffers Renner and her fiance, Ben Handley, who is from Oregon, shared a desire to move to the Salem area. " |
